This book describes the pocket reality of Night Borough. This dimension contains a single continent and a few islands and is located in the Void Beyond Worlds, the home of the Great Old Ones.
We draw a heavy influence from some of the Dracula, Frankenstein, and several science fiction books and movies. The setting is essentially fictional but grounded in 14th-17th century Europe.
Weird science, gunpowder and magic mix in this strange world. If you have a favorite Dungeons and Dragons scenario, rules have been included for converting DnD to the Dark Stars system.
At its core, this is a fantasy gothic horror book, with horror themes - both scientific and fantastic, Lovecraftian monsters attempting to destroy the world, pre-revolutionary Europe on the cusp of the enlightenment, evil barons and noble knights fighting alongside musketeers.
